How pricing works on Airgoods

How wholesale price (WSP), MSRP and shipping work for retailers on Airgoods: who sets each, how case pricing and margin are shown, when you see shipping costs, and how to get free shipping.

Every product on Airgoods has three prices that decide what you pay and what you earn: the wholesale price, the MSRP and shipping. This article explains how each one works.

The three prices at a glance

Price

What it is

Who sets it

Wholesale price (WSP)

What you pay the brand for the product

The brand

MSRP

The price you sell each unit for in your store

The brand

Shipping

The cost to ship your order from the brand to you

Wholesale price (WSP)

  • Set by the brand. Each brand sets its own wholesale prices. Brands agree to list on Airgoods at the same wholesale prices (or lower) they offer through their other wholesale channels.

  • Sold by the case. You order full cases (often 6 or 12 packs). The product page shows the case size, the price per case and the price per unit, where the price per case is the price per unit multiplied by the case size.

  • Visible once you're verified. Wholesale prices show after you sign in and your retailer account is approved. Until then, you'll see the MSRP only.

MSRP

  • Set by the brand. MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) is the per-unit shelf price the brand sets for its product.

  • Resell at MSRP. All Airgoods buyers must purchase with the intent to resell at the MSRP noted in the product listing.

How margin is shown: The product page shows your margin, which is the share of the MSRP you keep after paying the wholesale price per unit. For example, a product that costs you $3.60 per unit with an MSRP of $5.99 has a 40% margin.

Shipping

Airgoods is a marketplace of independent brands, so each brand sets its own shipping rates and ships your order itself. By default you pay shipping, and each brand in your cart has its own shipping charge.

  • Shown before you pay. You always see the shipping cost at checkout, and that's the amount you pay.

  • Estimates are final. Some brands bill shipping after the order ships. For those brands you see an estimated shipping cost at checkout, and that estimate is what you're charged. Your invoice isn't changed later, whether the brand's actual cost is higher or lower.

  • Free if the brand ships free. If a brand ends up shipping your order for free after you were charged an estimate, Airgoods removes the shipping charge from your invoice.

Getting free shipping

  • Shop brands that always ship free. Browse every product that ships free in the free-shipping catalogue.

  • Meet the brand's free-shipping threshold. Many brands ship free once your order reaches a subtotal or a number of cases. The threshold applies automatically.

  • Join through a brand's Airgoods Direct link. Retailers who create their account through a brand's Airgoods Direct link get a $100 credit, net 60 terms and a year of free shipping, capped at $500 of shipping per quarter.

Discounts and savings

  • Brand promotions. Brands run their own discounts, such as percentage off, first-order offers and tiered discounts. Find them in the Shop Deals tab. Live discounts are applied at checkout.

  • Volume pricing. Grocery and specialty food stores unlock an automatic discount of up to 10% with a brand as their yearly spend with that brand grows. See How volume pricing works on Airgoods (for retailers).
