Keeping Your Business on Airgoods: Our Disintermediation Policy

Learn why all communication, payments, and coordination between sellers and buyers must stay within the Airgoods platform.

Airgoods is built to support every step of the buying and selling process — from discovery to payment. To protect both sellers and buyers, all communication, transactions, and coordination must happen within the platform.

What is disintermediation?

Disintermediation occurs when sellers and buyers move their interactions — whether communication, payments, or delivery coordination — outside of Airgoods. This includes:

  • Charging a buyer outside of the platform

  • Collecting payment separately or through a third-party method

  • Coordinating delivery fees or logistics off-platform

  • Moving conversations or negotiations to outside channels (email, phone, messaging apps, etc.)

These activities are a violation of Airgoods' seller policies.

Why does this matter?

Airgoods operates as a commission-based marketplace. When transactions or communications leave the platform, it undermines the integrity of the marketplace and removes the protections that both sellers and buyers rely on — including secure payments, dispute resolution, and order tracking.

Keeping everything on Airgoods ensures:

  • Buyers and sellers are protected throughout every transaction

  • Payments are processed securely and transparently

  • Disputes can be reviewed and resolved by Airgoods

  • Your account remains in good standing

What sellers must do

As a seller on Airgoods, you are required to:

  • Use Airgoods messaging for all communication with buyers

  • Process all payments and invoicing through the platform

  • Coordinate any delivery or fulfillment details within Airgoods workflows

  • Avoid directing buyers to pay or communicate outside of Airgoods

Important: Soliciting or accepting off-platform payments — including for delivery fees or add-on charges — is not permitted and may result in account suspension.

Frequently asked questions

What if I need to charge a buyer for a local delivery fee?

Any additional fees, including local delivery charges, must be handled through Airgoods. If you have questions about how to set up or apply specific charges, please contact Airgoods support for guidance on approved methods.

Can I message a buyer on a third-party platform to confirm an order?

No. All order-related communication should take place within Airgoods messaging. This protects both you and the buyer and ensures there is a clear record of the transaction.

What happens if I accept a payment outside the platform?

Off-platform payments are a violation of seller policy. Depending on the severity, this may result in warnings or temporary account suspension. If a buyer requests to pay outside Airgoods, decline and direct them to complete the purchase through the platform.

If you have questions about this policy or need help navigating a specific situation, reach out to Airgoods support ([email protected]) — we're here to help you stay compliant and keep your business running smoothly!
