Troubleshooting: Order Acceptance Issues (Shopify Integration)

A guide for resolving common reasons why the Shopify integration prevents a seller from accepting orders, including inventory, product linking, and location issues.

If a seller is unable to accept orders through the Shopify integration, it is typically caused by one of the following three issues. Work through each section to identify and resolve the problem.

1. No Inventory Available

The integration will block order acceptance if there is no inventory recorded in Shopify for the product on the order.

How to fix:

  • Add inventory directly in Shopify for the relevant product.

  • Alternatively, disable inventory sync in the integration settings so that inventory levels no longer gate order acceptance.

2. Product Linked to an Incorrect or Deleted Product

If a product on the order is linked to a Shopify product that no longer exists or was set up incorrectly, the order cannot be accepted.

How to fix:

  1. Open you integration settings and unlink the affected product.

  2. Relink the product to a valid, existing Shopify product.

3. Product Linked to a Location That Doesn't Allow E-commerce Sales

In Shopify, locations can be configured to restrict or allow online (e-commerce) sales. If a product is linked to a location where e-commerce sales are disabled, orders will be blocked.

How to fix:

  • In Shopify, navigate to the location settings and confirm that the linked location is enabled for e-commerce sales.

  • If the location cannot be changed, relink the product to a location that does permit online sales.
