How does matching work? How do you decide which retailers are a “good fit” for my brand?
We match brands to retailers based on store type, category fit, buying behavior on Airgoods, and any preferences you share. Some retailers also prefer to handpick the brands they’re interested in rather than having us select matches for them.
The goal is always to send your samples to stores that are most likely to be a good fit, so feel free to share any helpful insights when filling out your opt-in form!
What kind of stores do my samples go to?
Independent and specialty retailers that actively buy on Airgoods including gourmet grocers, natural and organic markets, food co-ops, cheese shops, wine shops, general stores, and other high-quality food and beverage stores.
Can I focus on or exclude specific regions, store types, etc.?
Yes! You can share any preferences or exclusions around regions, store types, or other criteria and we’ll incorporate them into matching — you can put this info in your application when opting in.
Can I see who the matches are first before I decide if I want to send samples?
Unfortunately not — we only begin matching you after we receive your samples, but you still have full visibility and control.
We’ll share a list of the retailers you were matched with a week before the sample boxes go out. You’ll then have a chance to review the matches and make any adjustments before boxes are shipped. You can reach out to [email protected] if you’d like more info!
Will I know who samples are going to?
Yes! You’ll get the list of matches before we ship anything out for you to review, and once samples are shipped out they’ll all the added to your Airgoods Customers page you can reach out to them directly.
How can I make sure current customers don’t get my samples?
You can upload a list of existing customers beforehand, and you’ll also get the list of matches for you to review before we ship anything out.
Can I reach out to stores directly?
Yes! You can message retailers directly on Airgoods and send them marketing campaigns after samples are shipped.
Should I include a first order discount?
Yes, we’ve seen first order discounts help drive conversion. Airgoods will match up to 10% of any first order discount you select when opting into the program, so a 10% discount from you becomes 20% off for sample box recipients at checkout.
